Motivation: Cause and Effect

In a recent piece for the TES magazine, I discussed motivation. I drew an example from my own experience regarding cryptic crosswords: I have little ability at solving such crosswords and I am not motivated to do so whereas I have friends who enjoy solving cryptic crosswords and are good at it.
